FAQ
Questions business owners ask us.
Getting started
What equipment do I need?
An internet line, a MikroTik router running RouterOS 7 (we test on the L009 series) and your access points. We generate a setup script for your router that you review before running.
I already run a MikroTik hotspot. Can I keep it?
Usually, yes. Our script adds what’s needed for payments and sign-in. Back up your router first and read the script; it’s written to be understood.
How long does setup take?
Most people are selling within an afternoon. The slowest step is usually getting the router cabled in the right place.
Do I need a licence to resell internet?
You are the seller of the connectivity, so check your arrangement with your internet provider and any NCC requirements before you go live. We provide the software.
Payments and money
Who receives the money?
You do. Customers pay into your own payment provider account, and it settles to your bank on the provider’s normal schedule. We never hold your revenue.
Which payment providers do you support?
Paystack, Flutterwave and Monnify (Flutterwave and Monnify are in beta). Connect the one you already use; customers pay by card, bank transfer or USSD.
What if a customer pays but can’t connect?
Access is only granted after the payment is confirmed. If a confirmation goes missing, we re-check the payment automatically. You can see each payment’s trail and give the customer access or a top-up from their page.
Can I sell for cash?
Yes. Print voucher codes to sell over the counter, or record a cash sale against a customer and hand them their login details.
Plans and customers
Can a customer use more than one device?
Yes. Each plan sets how many devices can share it, up to 20. With a data cap, all devices share one allowance.
Can I offer unlimited plans without being abused?
Set a fair-use threshold. After it, the customer is slowed down instead of cut off, so heavy users can’t crowd everyone else out.
Can I offer free Wi-Fi?
Yes. Create a plan priced at 0 and each person can claim it once. It’s a good way to welcome first-time visitors.
What if the internet goes down?
Customers can’t sign in while your location is offline, and your dashboard shows the gateway as offline. Plan time keeps counting, so consider giving affected customers a top-up.
Pricing and billing
How much does it cost?
21 days free, then you pay per location in your own currency: a monthly price, or a fee for each hour a location is online (with a small minimum, and never more than the monthly price). Nigeria: ₦15,000 a month, or ₦30 an hour.
Which countries can I use it in?
Nigeria. Each workspace is set to one country: that sets its currency, phone numbers and the payment providers you can connect. Want us in your country? Tell us on the contact page.
Do I need a card for the trial?
No. You only pay when you decide to keep using it after the trial.
What if I miss a payment?
Invoices go out on the 1st with 7 days to pay. After that, selling is paused until the invoice is paid. Your data and settings are kept.
Do you charge per router or device?
No. Each location can have unlimited routers, access points, devices and customers.
