Most businesses go live in an afternoon. Here’s what you need and what happens at each step.

What you need

Three things, and you may have them already.

An internet line

Fibre, a fixed wireless link or a business broadband plan. Size it for how many people you expect at once.

A MikroTik router

Any MikroTik running RouterOS 7. We test on the L009 series. It becomes the gateway that lets paying customers through.

Access points

The ones you already have usually work. Connect them behind the MikroTik so all guest traffic passes through it.

Setup

Five steps to go live.

  1. 1

    Create your account and add a location

    Sign up and start your 21-day trial. Add each place you sell Wi-Fi as a location; each one gets its own Wi-Fi page.

  2. 2

    Add your gateway

    Register your MikroTik and we generate a setup script for it. Back up your router, review the script, then run it. It sets up the hotspot, a secure link to us and regular health check-ins.

    Create plans

    Set a name, price, duration, data allowance, speed and number of devices. Add a free plan if you want to welcome first-time visitors.

  4. 4

    Connect your payment account

    Add your Paystack keys so customer payments go straight into your account. Turn on two-factor sign-in first; it protects your money.

  5. 5

    Go live

    Connect a phone to your Wi-Fi and buy the cheapest plan. Your checklist ticks itself off when we see the real payment and the real connection.
