Accept payments: Paystack, Flutterwave and Monnify
Connect your own payment account so customer money settles straight to your bank. Covers keys, webhooks, test mode and going live.
Customer payments go straight into your own payment account and settle to your bank on the provider's normal schedule. Wispot never holds your money. You pay the provider's usual transaction fees; we don't take a cut of your sales.
Supported providers
| Provider | Status | Customers can pay by |
|---|---|---|
| Paystack | Available | Card, bank transfer, USSD |
| Flutterwave | Beta | Card, bank transfer, USSD |
| Monnify | Beta | Bank transfer, card, USSD |
You use one provider at a time. You can switch in Settings → Payments whenever you like; the router setup script lets customers reach all three providers' checkout pages before they pay.
Router set up before Flutterwave and Monnify were added? Before switching, open the router's Terminal (WinBox or WebFig) and paste these lines once, or customers won't be able to open the new checkout page:
/ip hotspot walled-garden add dst-host="flutterwave.com" comment="hsp" /ip hotspot walled-garden add dst-host="*.flutterwave.com" comment="hsp" /ip hotspot walled-garden add dst-host="monnify.com" comment="hsp" /ip hotspot walled-garden add dst-host="*.monnify.com" comment="hsp"
Before you connect
As the workspace owner you need to:
- confirm your email and verify your phone number, and
- turn on two-factor sign-in (Settings → Profile & security).
This protects the account that controls where your money goes.
Connect Paystack
- In your Paystack dashboard, open Settings → API Keys & Webhooks.
- Copy your secret key. Use
sk_test_…to try things out,sk_live_…for real payments. - In Wispot go to Settings → Payments, paste the key and your business name.
- Copy the webhook URL we show you into Paystack's Webhook URL field and save.
The Connect your payment account step completes when the first signed payment notification arrives from Paystack.
Connect Flutterwave (beta)
- In your Flutterwave dashboard, open Settings → API Keys and copy the secret key (
FLWSECK_TEST-…for test mode,FLWSECK-…for live). - Make up a long random secret hash (at least 16 characters). Flutterwave sends it with every webhook so we know the message is really from them.
- In Wispot go to Settings → Payments → Flutterwave and enter your business name, the secret key and the secret hash.
- In Flutterwave open Settings → Webhooks. Paste the webhook URL we show you and the same secret hash, then save.
Connect Monnify (beta)
- In your Monnify dashboard, open Settings → API Keys & Contracts and copy the API key (
MK_TEST_…orMK_PROD_…), the secret key and the contract code. - In Wispot go to Settings → Payments → Monnify and enter them with your business name. We check the keys with Monnify before saving, so a typo can't break checkout.
- In Monnify open Settings → Webhook URLs and paste the webhook URL we show you as the transaction-completion webhook.
Monnify's sandbox doesn't sign its webhooks, so in test mode we accept them unsigned. That's safe because every payment is always re-checked with Monnify before access is given. In live mode, unsigned webhooks are rejected.
A Monnify customer who pays less than the plan price (possible with bank transfers) doesn't get access automatically. The order stays pending so you can refund or top it up.
How a payment becomes access
- The customer picks a plan and pays on the provider's secure page.
- The provider notifies Wispot. We check the payment directly with the provider (amount, currency and your account) before doing anything.
- Only then does the customer get access, usually within seconds.
If a notification goes missing, Wispot re-checks pending payments automatically, so a customer who paid is never left out.
